A local photographer is working on a "porch smiles and blessings" project throughout the area in an effort to help families and organizations at this time.

Jennifer Sloss of Tyrone, owner of Blink of an Eye Photography, is planning to stop in different towns in the evenings and take family photos on porches, keeping "social distance" while doing so.

She will spend about five minutes per house and offer three to five images through a password-protected online site.

"This is free, but I am hoping for donations to give to a good cause," explained Sloss. "I believe we all could use a reason to get dressed up, to smile and laugh during this crazy and scary time. I want to help."

The goal is to bless one or more families with a laptop so kids have a way to learn at home, and to collect food items.

Sloss is aiming to visit Tyrone and Bellwood this week, Altoona and Hollidaysburg late in the weekend, and State College next week. Interested families can message the Blink of an Eye Photography Facebook page to set up a time.
