Logan Township Police conducted a traffic stop in the area of East Walton Avenue and South Hagerty Street, Altoona, at 9:44 a.m. on Feb. 11, as a vehicle was leaving the Cedar Grove Motel. The driver was identified as Travis Chichy, 43, of Altoona. During the stop, a prescription bottle containing methamphetamine was found on Chichy’s person, as was a used hypodermic needle. Two out of the three individuals inside the car, including Chichy, had active warrants. Chichy was transported to the Blair County Prison and charged for drug possession, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia.
State Police at Huntingdon were dispatched to a residence along Industrial Road, Mount Union Borough, at 2 p.m. on Feb. 15, after receiving reports of a woman opening car doors at the Easter Grass Facility. Upon arriving at the scene, officers identified the woman as Brandi Detwiler, 38, of Mount Union. It was determined that she was intoxicated and causing undue alarm to the public. Detwiler was cited with two non-traffic citations for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.
State Police at Huntingdon were dispatched to Redstone Ridge Road, Penn Township, on Sunday, March 12, after receiving reports of a motor vehicle accident. Sierra N. Thompson, 23, of Huntingdon, was traveling north-bound when she left the roadway and struck a utility pole. She then proceeded to flee the scene. Her vehicle was located on Ore Mine Road. Thompson was later found and determined to be under the influence of alcohol.
