Clearfield State Police reported a crash that occurred on May 14 at 1:10 p.m. on Powell Street in Morris Township. A vehicle operated by Justin D. Gummo, 24, of Mount Ulla, North Carolina, was traveling east on Powell Street. Gummo lost control of his vehicle, which crossed the roadway, and impacted a small fence and the embankment on the north side the roadway. After impact, the vehicle continued to travel east, approximately 75 feet, and rolled over several times before coming to final rest on its left side, facing northeast. Gummo was transported to UPMC Altoona Hospital for evaluation and treatment by Moshannon Valley EMS. The vehicle was towed from the scene. As a result of the crash investigation, Gummo was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
Hollidaysburg State Police report a crash occurred on May 15 at 12:35 p.m. on I-99 at mile marker 31.1 in Logan Township. A vehicle operated by an unknown actor and a vehicle operated by Natalie M. Geisler, 44, of Tyrone were traveling north on I-99 near mile marker 31.1. While traveling at this location, the Geisler vehicle was struck by a large dump truck with a red cap that had merged into Geisler’s path. The truck then fled the scene.
