Tyrone Borough Council Monday evening unanimously accepted the resignation of Sergeant Jason Hollis. Hollis has been on paid leave for about a year with Tyrone Borough. While there have been many rumors in the community, speculating the reason for this as well as his now resignation, nothing can be confirmed at this time.

Mayor Bill Latchford, following the meeting, told The Daily Herald that the resignation was a personnel matter. Tyrone Borough will now move forward to hire a new full-time police officer through the civil service process.

Last month, council members enthusiastically appointed new Chief Jessica Walk. The department will now move forward to find another new officer.
