Tyrone Police charged a Tyrone man with misdemeanor fleeing and eluding police, and several other charges on August 21 at 7 p.m. in the borough.
Randall S. Fink, 18, of Tyrone was driving a red Mitsubishi Montero, which officers knew to not be inspected. The officer on duty reportedly observed the vehicle travel Route 453 to Pennsylvania Avenue. As the officer approached the vehicle in a marked patrol car, it reportedly accelerated and continued to accelerate after the officer had activated lights and sirens.
According to reports, at East 14th Street, Fink failed to stop at a stop sign at Blair Avenue and traveled around a vehicle stopped at the stop sign. Fink continued, making a few more turns before stopping in the back yard of his Blair Avenue residence.
Reports allege three other passengers were in the vehicle at the time Fink was trying to avoid apprehension.
The vehicle’s inspection sticker was expired and it was discovered Fink does not have a valid license. Fink also faces a previous conviction from August 11 with multiple charges pending.
Tyrone Police additionally charged Fink with driving while operating privilege suspended, careless driving, reckless driving, duties at a stop sign, and expired registration.
