A Tyrone man was arraigned on Wednesday by on call District Magistrate Fred Miller on drug and firearm charges.
Justin F. Lefevre, 42, of South Eagle Valley Road was charged by Logan Township Police on May 20 with second-degree felony possession of altered firearm, second-degree felony persons not to possess/use/sell/transfer firearm, third-degree felony firearm not to be carried without a license, second-degree felony altering marks of identification, felony manufacturing/delivery/possession with intent, misdemeanor possession of controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and two summary traffic violations.
Police were dispatched that day to Greenwood Sheetz for a report of a person passed out in the driver’s side seat of a van near the air pumps. Police awoke the male and directed him to unlock the door after he was unable to roll down the window.
According to a filed criminal complaint, police saw drug paraphernalia and bullets in the door handle. Lefevre was identified; he told police he last used methamphetamine a few days previously.
He reportedly gave police permission to search the vehicle and when asked, he said there were no guns inside the vehicle.
Between the front seats on the floor, police found a handgun with a round in the chamber; it was registered to another individual. Two other guns were found in the vehicle, as well as other drug paraphernalia, heroin, acid, methamphetamine, cocaine, and a large sum of cash.
Lefevre was arrested and committed to Blair County Prison with bail set at $50,000 straight. A preliminary hearing is set for May 28 at District Magistrate Matthew Dunio in Altoona.
