George E. Miller Jr., 92, of Tyrone Pike, Tyrone, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2019 at the Tyrone Hospital ER.

He was born August 23, 1927 in Tyrone, the son of the late George E. and Lucy A. (Dean) Miller Sr. He was married Aug. 17, 1944 to Dorothy Albright, who he met riding horses. He is survived by his wife Dorothy; a son Stephen A. Miller Sr. (Jane); grandchildren, Stephen A. Miller, Jr. (Vickie), Julie M. Mauer (Tracy), Jason P. Miller, Erin M. Bonsell (Bill); four great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Neva E. Patterson.

He attended the Tyrone Bible Baptist Church since 2008. He served as a Sgt. in the U.S. Army during WWII training Auto Mechanics. He had worked in carpentry, opened the former Skat Gas Station on Rt. 220, and retired from Westvaco Paper Mill after 12 years service. He always enjoyed going to Florida, loved football, pickles, peanuts, his dogs (Chris and Pee-Wee), loved horses, and could fix anything.

By request of the deceased, there will be no viewing or services. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park. Arrangements by the Derman Funeral Home, Inc.
