Wells

Lillian Wohlford Wells went Home to be with the Lord on September 13, 2020 at Epworth Personal Care, Tyrone. She was born on November 2, 1919 in Marion, VA to the late Bullard and Margaret (Umberger) Wohlford.

After attending Marion College for a year, she moved to Washington, DC where she worked for the FBI and CIA during and after WW2. On November 4, 1955, she married Eugene Wells and moved to Womelsdorf, PA, where she lived for 39 years. Upon marrying Eugene, she had an instant family of two adult children and a five-year old. After Eugene passed in 1991, she moved to the National Lutheran Home (The Villages of Rockville) in 1994 where she resided for 24 years, then moved to Epworth in Tyrone.

She is preceded in death by her four brothers, one sister, and a daughter, Katherine Stout. Surviving Lillian are her children: Sue and (Gary) Sorensen of Tyrone, Tom Stewart of Colorado. She is also survived by grandchildren Lisa and (Dan) Alexander, Mark and (Julie) Kosoglow, Brian and (Nubia) Kosoglow, Leif Sorensen, Scott and (Debbie) Stewart, Sandy and (Mac) Mcanally, Patty and (Bryan) Silbermann, Kathy and (Darren) Johnston, Jay and (Laurie) Stout, Debbie and (Tim) Nolan. There are also 24 great grandchildren – Kyle, Tayrn, Michael, Tim, Sherry, Eric, Brad, Patrick, Evan, Trevor, Dayna, JT, Alexa, Sara, Jena, Zach, Neil, Conrad, Maqqel, Mia, Sam, Emmanuel, Benjamin, Abby and 8 great-great grandchildren – Colby, Logan, Isabella, Zachary, Bradley, Collette, and William. Her niece, Barbara and (Wade) Marshall of VA, and nephews, Guy and (Connie) Wohlford, Richard and (Melanie) Wohlford of NC, and Roger Wohlford of SC also survive her.

Lillian was described by all her caregivers as an amazing, gracious lady. One of her best friends said of her, “She was a grand lady, a lady of deep and abiding faith, who lived out her faith, enriching lives in countless ways.” She was always up for a good political debate having spent her later years watching Fox News every day. She loved to garden, read, find new recipes and pray for her friends and family.

A private funeral will be held at the gravesite in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Myerstown, PA.
