The Bellwood-Antis volleyball team got over the .500 mark for the first time this season with a four-set win over Mount Union on Thursday evening at Bellwood-Antis High School.
The Lady Blue Devils won the first set, 25-19, before dropping the second set, 25-22. Bellwood rallied to win the third and fourth sets by scores of 25-20 and 25-13.
In the first set, the Lady Trojans held the lead for the majority of the game, but B-A took the lead at 16-15 thanks to three straight kills from Sakeria Haralson.
Haralson took over the set on the Lady Blue Devils’ way to the 25-19 win.
Much like the first set, the second set was tight for much of the way. The Lady Blue Devils ded jump out to a 9-15 lead, but saw the lead disappear at 20-20. Mount Union went on to take five of the next seven points to win 25-22.
Mount Union had a few small leads in the third set, but Bellwood took the lead at 12-11 and never gave it back. Once again, Haralson knocked down three straight kills late in the set to help the Lady Blue Devils to a 25-20 victory.
The Lady Trojans took the first two points of the fourth set, but Bellwood rallied back to take the next six points thanks to a Dakota Woomer kill and five straight service points from Sicily Yingling.
The Lady Blue Devils stretched the lead to as big as 19-8 at one point, and one more Haralson kill ended the match with a 25-13 win.
The Lady Blue Devils wrap up the regular season on Thursday with a home match against Tyrone.
