The season has gotten off to a rocky start for the Lady Blue Devil softball team as they suffered a 17-0 loss to the Glendale Vikings.
Despite the tough loss, first year head coach Heather Quick has maintained a positive attitude for the girls.
“I’ve been preaching to the girls that we need to minimize our errors and we need to hit with these teams, but we haven’t been doing that,” commented Quick. “We were really positive today, so I think we will be building this year into hopefully something great in the next year or two, but there are definitely growing pains.”
Quick has made sure the girls remain positive but did admit that the girls really need to start improving on their hitting because that is how they have fallen behind so far this season.
“Nobody was really able to have a noteworthy performance for our team because we had no hits and six errors during the game,” said Quick. “We just got clobbered in the three innings.”
The girls’ game against Tyrone on Saturday has been postponed, so the Lady Blue Devils hope to turn the corner with their offensive woes on Tuesday’s game against Curwensville.
