The Tyrone girls soccer team has been playing some of their best soccer at the friendly confines of the Harry K. Sickler Complex since a season-opening loss to Hollidaysburg two weeks ago.
That continued on Monday afternoon as the Lady Eagles got a hat trick from Chloe LaRosa in a 5-1 victory over Huntingdon.
This came just two days after a 12-1 victory on Cambria Heights over the weekend.
“We ran into a really tough Clearfield team last week. Since then, it’s been really strong,” said Tyrone head coach Mike Sparacino. “I’m very proud of how we’ve been playing. Honestly even with how well we’re playing, we haven’t even hit the top yet. I’m just excited to see that.”
LaRosa got the initial goal of the game at the 11:41 mark before the Lady Eagles got a goal off a Huntingdon player just seven minutes later. LaRosa picked up another one at 33:02 to make it 3-0, which held at the half.
Lindsey Parks had the assist on the first goal, while Jaylee Shuke had the help on the second goal.
LaRosa made it a hat trick off a pass from Avalyn Moore just 5:40 into the second half. Lexi Hess made it 5-0 at 58:30 off another assist from Parks.
Huntingdon’s Greta Staley got her team’s lone goal unassisted with under nine minutes to play.
Rayann Walls had six saves for the Lady Eagles.
Tyrone, which improved to 4-2 on the season, travels to Bald Eagle Area on Wednesday evening.
