Public meeting planned for Jackson Corner slope project
MILLER TWP. — PennDOT will conduct an open house and plans display on the proposed Route 26 Jackson Corner Slope Stabilization Project from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, at Stone Valley Creek Fire Hall, 5470 McAlevys Fort Road, Petersburg.
The proposed project will include stabilization efforts to a 400-foot section of Route 26 approximately one half-mile north of Jackson Corner. Work will include excavation, drainage installation that will improve roadway sight distance, new bituminous pavement and a new guide rail. Traffic will be detoured during construction.
The purpose of this meeting is to provide the public an opportunity to review and comment on the proposed project. Representatives of PennDOT and the project team will be available to answer questions and receive comments regarding the project. The comments of all individuals, groups, or organizations are welcome. Anyone with knowledge of historic resources in the project area should attend the meeting.
