An Orbisonia man lost his life Friday evening, the result of a single-vehicle crash in Todd Township, state police at Huntingdon report.
Huntingdon County Deputy Coroner Lori Arcq pronounced Richard C. Miller, 67, deceased at the scene of the crash in the area of 9479 Old Plank Road (Route 994), about 7 miles west of Three Springs.
State police, who received the crash report at 7:30 p.m., said Mr. Miller was eastbound in a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt LT and lost control of the vehicle for an unknown reason.
State Trooper Duane Mock, who investigated, reported the vehicle struck an embankment head-on, then a tree stump and overturned, coming to rest on its roof facing south. Police said Mr. Miller was not wearing a seat belt.
The Robertsdale, Wood & Broad Top and Three Springs volunteer fire companies and Fulton County Medic 60 assisted state police at the scene. Fire Police from RW&BT and Three Springs handled traffic control.
The vehicle was towed from the scene.
The call ended nearly three hours after it was dispatched.
The crash is the seventh fatal incident reported on county roads this year.
