Enjoying a November dip in the lake

With temperatures hovering in the mid-30s and the Real Feel temperature 20 degrees, Salvation Army Auxiliary Captain Philip Bender took a dip in Raystown Lake Saturday morning. Bender collected less toys (32) than his wife, Auxiliary Captain Charity Bender, who collected 39, during a toy drive at Walmart Nov. 9. The Benders thanked everyone who contributed during the event, noting the toys will go toward the Treasures for Children distribution. “We can’t do it without the community’s help,” said Charity Bender.
