Home threatened by car fire

The Robertsdale, Wood & Broad Top (RW&BT) Volunteer Fire Co. was called to the Eric Cooley residence at 20264 Alder St. in Broad Top City Borough at 4:30 a.m. Dec. 1 for a reported car fire threatening a structure. Upon arrival, it was discovered that Cooley’s 2007 Pontiac G6 was fully engulfed in flames, just feet away from his one-story residence. The flames were quickly extinguished with no damage to the residence. The vehicle, however, is a total loss. State police from Huntingdon were called to the scene to investigate the incident. RW&BT firefighters were assisted by the Saxton Volunteer Fire Co. The call ended one hour later.
