One case was bound over for the court of common pleas, Wednesday by magisterial district judge Doug Gummo during central court.
Darrin L. Freeman, 19, of South Mountain is facing charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, and harassment.
According to testimony from state police trooper Christopher Bourne, Freeman, an inmate at the Youth Forestry Camp, and the victim, another YFC inmate, had exchanged verbal remarks March 1. Bourne stated Freeman told him that he struck the victim three times in face area. Bourne related that when interviewing the victim, he had visible swelling on his face and jaw.
Gummo bound the case to the court of common pleas.
Two defendants involved in a drug bust in Mount Union on March 5 waived their rights to a preliminary hearing.
Kevin Miller, 36, of Pittsburgh, is facing one count of possession of a controlled substance, and one count of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver.
Dora Branche, 31, of Mount Union, is facing one count of possession of a controlled substance, one count of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, and one count of use or possession of drug paraphernalia.
The following defendants also waived their right to a preliminary hearing Wednesday:
— Jarrod R. Walter, 33, Shirleysburg, two counts of criminal mischief.
— Cody Houck, 24, Petersburg, criminal trespassing.
— Keith A. Maul, 39, Shirleysburg, terroristic threats.
