Drug possession

SMITHFIELD TWP. — State police at Huntingdon responded to a report of drugs fund at 1100 Pike St. at 11:36 a.m. Feb. 8. Upon investigation, it was determined that Michele Lloyd, 27, Altoona, was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia during a vehicle search at SCI Huntingdon.

CrashesHENDERSON TWP. — State police at Huntingdon investigated a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of William Penn Highway and Trough Creek Valley Pike at 8:22 a.m. Feb. 10. A 2017 Ford Fusion and a 2007 Chrysler Town & Country minivan were traveling east when the Chrysler came to a stop at the red light at the intersection, while the Ford, traveling behind the Chrysler, was following too closely. As a result, the Ford came to a stop at the red light and was unable to stop before it struck the Chrysler at its two o’clock position. Both vehicle sustained minor damage and were able to be driven from the scene. No injuries were observed or reported while on scene.

PORTER TWP. — State police at Huntingdon investigated a two-vehicle crash on William Penn Highway west of Locust Lane at 1:16 p.m. Feb. 10. Beth Gordon, 28, Pittsburgh, was operating a 2016 Honda CRV west behind a 2009 Suzuki SX4 operated by Ronald Keller, 57, Huntingdon, which was also traveling west. The Suzuki slowed down to make a right-hand turn into the Dollar General store when the Honda, following too closely, struck the Suzuki at its five o’clock position. The Honda then continued forward, then came to a final rest facing west on the left side of the road. The Suzuki then came to a final uncontrolled rest by facing west in the entrance of Dollar General Store. Both vehicle sustained disabling damage and were towed from the scene. No injuries were observed or reported by police. Gordon will be cited for following too closely.

KISTLER BORO., MIFFLIN CO. — State police at Huntingdon investigated a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Kistler and Nolan roads at 3 p.m. Feb. 13. Police report a 2012 Toyota Camry was attempting to turn left onto Kistler Road from Nolan Road as a 2003 Hyundai Marcia was traveling on Kistler Road when the Toyota pulled out in front of the Hyundai, causing a collision. No injuries were reported. Police were assisted on scene by Mount Union Volunteer Fire Co. and Mount Union Ambulance.

JACKSON TWP. — State police at Huntingdon investigated a one-vehicle crash on Standing Stone Road at 12:05 p.m. Feb. 8. Heather Rupert, 35, Huntingdon, was operating a 2009 Pontiac G6 north when the vehicle traveled off the right shoulder of the northbound lane for unknown reasons. The vehicle continued to travel north for approximately 220 feet before it struck a tree, rotated counterclockwise, then rolled over through a ditch before coming to a final uncontrolled rest facing west in a field. Rupert was wearing her seta belt, but sustained possible injuries and was transported for precautionary reasons. She was also believed to be under the influence and was taken for a blood draw. Charges are pending blood results.
