BRADY TWP. — State police at Huntingdon investigated a one-vehicle crash on William Penn Highway west of Oriskany Road and east of Haul Road at 1:14 p.m. Dec. 1. An unnamed operator was driving a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado west when the vehicle struck a deer at its 12 o’clock position that was stationary in the middle of the westbound lane. The operator was able to drive the vehicle off the roadway to a nearby pull off located on the shoulder of the road. The vehicle sustained functional damage at its 12 o’clock position along with deer fur. The operator had the vehicle towed due to an airbag malfunction and was not injured. All debris was removed from the roadway. A driver exchange was mailed to the operator.

LIBERTY TWP. — State police at Huntingdon investigated a one-vehicle crash on Pinchot Road south of Raystown Road at 11:17 p.m. Nov. 27. Colin Wertz, 23, Bedford, was operating a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze south when the vehicle crossed the opposing lane and struck a utility pole off the roadway. The vehicle sheered the utility pole, struck a raised gravel driveway from a culvert and came to a final rest. Wertz fled the scene and never attempted to contact law enforcement. Wertz was not injured. He will be cited for driving a vehicle at safe speeds.

WOOD TWP. — State police at Huntingdon investigated a one-vehicle crash on Main Street north of Trout Road at 10:19 p.m. Nov. 29. Andrew Crebbs, 28, Waterfall, was operating a 1998 Dodge Dakota and was attempting to make a left curve in the roadway when the vehicle exited the roadway and went into a grass curb. The vehicle continued off the roadway for approximately 150 feet and struck multiple standing trees. It came to a final rest against another tree. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Crebbs fled the scene and failed to contact law enforcement. He is suspected to have suffered minor injuries and was wearing a seat belt. Crebbs will be cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.


UNION TWP. — State police at Huntingdon report a 68-year-old Mapleton woman, listed as the victim, and a 58-year-old Mapleton woman, listed as the arrestee, were involved in a verbal dispute that turned physical on Smith Valley Road at 10:20 p.m. Nov. 26. The arrestee was charged in this incident.


SMITHFIELD TWP. — State police at Huntingdon conducted a traffic stop on Pennsylvania Avenue and South Eighth Street at 1:57 a.m. Oct. 26. The operator, an 18-year-old Alexandria man, was found to be operating a vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance. Drug paraphernalia was also found within the vehicle.
