Drug possession

LIBERTY TWP., BEDFORD CO. — Andrew Burns, 20, was taken into custody by state police at Bedford for possession of marijuana when police conducted a traffic stop on Henrietta Mountain and Raystown roads at 9:42 p.m. Dec. 3.

Theft

SMITHFIELD TWP. — A Huntingdon woman reported to state police at Huntingdon her cash was stolen from her wallet between midnight Nov. 7 and 9 a.m. Nov. 14. This investigation is pending.

PORTER TWP. — State police at Huntingdon report unknown actor(s) stole 275 gallons of oil from the oil tank at Alexandria Sportman’s Club between 6 p.m. Nov. 26 and 1 p.m. Dec. 2. Anyone with any information regarding this incident should contact PSP at Huntingdon at 627-3161.

Burglary

TODD TWP. — A 25-year-old Broad Top City male reported to state police at Huntingdon unknown actor(s) entered his garage on Old Plank Road at 9 a.m. Nov. 25 and removed three rifles, two shotguns and a pair of binoculars, then fled the scene undetected in an unknown direction.

Drugs found

PORTER TWP. — State police at Huntingdon conducted a traffic stop on a motor vehicle for summary traffic offenses on William Penn Highway at 12:39 a.m. Nov. 25, and during the stop, a small amount of marijuana and related paraphernalia were located on a 42-year-old woman, listed as the passenger in the vehicle, at the time of the incident. This incident remains open pending charges.

Crashes

BARREE TWP. — State police at Huntingdon investigated a one-vehicle crash on McAlevys Fort Road at 12:16 a.m. Dec. 5. An unnamed operator was driving a 2001 Toyota Camry south when the vehicle exited its lane of travel and struck a guide rail. After impact, the vehicle continued south along the guide before crossing through the intersection and struck a tree. After impact with the tree, the operator was able to reverse the vehicle onto the roadway and continue to drive south for several miles to a residence for help. The witness at the residence contacted 911 after he believed the operator of the vehicle overdosed and stopped breathing. Upon arrival and police investigation, the operator of the vehicle will be charged with DUI and other traffic-related offenses.

CASS TWP. — State police at Huntingdon investigated a one-vehicle crash on Hares Valley Road south of Gravedigger Drive at 8:55 a.m. Dec. 6. Kristin Bindschusz, 31, Rockhill, was operating a 2007 Saturn Ion south when the vehicle failed to negotiate a left curve and traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck an embankment. After striking the embankment, the vehicle went up the embankment until it lost momentum, then rolled back down. The vehicle came to a final rest on the right side of the roadway on its wheels. Bindschusz was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, but suffered no injuries. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Alcohol is not a factor in this collision. She will be cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
