Happy Anniversary

Faith and Joel Fouse

Happy anniversary wishes go out to Joel and Faith (Rylan) Fouse of Entriken, who celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Dec. 29, 2018. They were united in marriage in 1968 at Woodlawn Presbyterian in Aliquippa by the Rev. Woodward.

Joel is the son of Mae and William “Butch” Fouse and Faith is the daughter of Mary and Charles.

They are the parents of five children, Jessica (Fouse) Camp and husband, Jeff, of Joliet, Illinois, Rebecca Reed of Sebring, Florida, Damian of Entriken, Joel Jr. and wife, Abby, of Entriken, and the late Nadine. Joel and Faith have five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The Fouses have resided in Aliquippa and lived in Princeton, Illinois, for 10 years.

Joel retired from employment with LTV Steel in 2000. He serves on the Consistory of St. Matthew United Church of Christ, Entriken, sings in the church quartet and was an avid bowler and golfer. Joel is also a Mason.

Faith served as queen of the Raystown Red Hat Sophisticates in James Creek and is a Lioness with the Woodcock Valley Lions. She also serves on the election board for Lincoln Township.

The couple’s youngest daughter, Jessica, planned an anniversary celebration for them from her home in Illinois. The event was held at the Lake Raystown Resort Convention Center. A total of 81 friends and family members attended from Illinois, Ohio, Florida and Pittsburgh. A sit-down dinner was enjoyed by all and a renewal of vowels was officiated by the Rev. James Patterson. For the ceremony, the Fouse’s daughters presented their mother with a bouquet of white roses and a three-tier wedding cake, which was cut by the couple. Small gold bags with gold-wrapped chocolates were given as gifts to everyone. As a surprise to their mom and dad, a photographer was present to take pictures throughout the event, which included a portrait of the entire family. An album of those photographs is being assembled for the couple. The occasion also marked Joel’s 80th birthday, which was Dec. 23, 2018. At the anniversary celebration, a birthday cake was also provided in his honor. The reason behind the banquet and the wedding cake was because Faith had told her children there was none the first time around.

Happy anniversary, Joel and Faith!
