Emmanuel Bible Church took time July 3 to celebrate the Rev. Greg Harven’s 25th year at the church.

The service began with four of the six Harven sisters singing, “God’s Been Good!” Harven brought his message, “Freedoms We Have in Christ” from John 8:28-32. He used other references in John where Jesus performed miracles to help meet needs.

At the end of the service, deacons Larry Sinniger and Bob Spickler, came to the pulpit and presented a plaque to Harven, honoring him for 25 years of dedicated, loyal service. The Harven sisters returned to the platform to sing, “We Shall See Jesus.”

After the closing prayer, the congregation moved to the Crile Activity Center where a special 25th anniversary cake and ice cream was waiting.

There was also another surprise for Harven, as the doors at the end of the Crile Center opened and a golf cart was driven into the building.
