Barry E. Taylor, 73, of Huntingdon, passed away at 3:03 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2020, at UPMC Altoona.

Born June 30, 1946, in Huntingdon, he was a son of the late George and Esther (Emerson) Taylor. He was united in marriage to the former Janice D. Painter June 30, 2003, in Huntingdon. Mrs. Taylor survives at their residence.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Barry “Bill” Taylor and his wife, Suzanna, of Pasadena, Maryland, Charles Taylor and his companion, Brian, of New Jersey, and Barron Taylor and his wife, Missy, of Three Springs; two stepchildren, Denise Price and her companion, Christopher Fairfield, of Altoona, and Ronald Price and his companion, Brenda Griffin, of Taneytown, Maryland; five grandchildren, Sarah Taylor, Eric Taylor, Caleb Taylor, Brooke Taylor and Braden Taylor; and a stepgranddaughter, Briana Hughes.

He is also survived by a sister, Beatrice Port of Middletown; and a special friend, Cesar Reynolds of Huntingdon.

He was preceded in death by five siblings, William Taylor, Betty Buchanan, Birdetta Greenawalt, Bernice Stoner and Bettina Harbaugh.

Mr. Taylor was of the Lutheran faith.

He attended Huntingdon public schools and was a 1964 graduate of Huntingdon High School.

In his earlier years, Mr. Taylor was employed by the former U.S. Sports of Huntingdon. He was subsequently hired by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation where he worked for several years until his retirement. After retirement, Mr. Taylor worked as a Huntingdon CART transportation driver.

His hobbies included woodworking, hunting, fishing, birdwatching and vegetable gardening.

Private interment will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in remembrance of Mr. Taylor may be made to the Huntingdon County Humane Society, 11371 School House Hollow Rd, Huntingdon, PA 16652.
