Charles Ray Benson, 85, formerly of 1026 Moore St., Huntingdon, died at 12:50 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019, at AristaCare at Huntingdon Park, Huntingdon.
Born July 15, 1933, in Huntingdon, he was a son of the late George and Nancy Benson. He was united in marriage to the former Catherine Mae Bilheimer, who preceded him in death April 26, 2000.
Mr. Benson is survived by three children, William E. Benson and wife, Pearl, Alexandria; Robin M. Bork and husband, Mark, Dover, Pennsylvania; and Bryan R. Benson and wife, Tina, Huntingdon; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by two brothers, Robert Benson and wife, Judy, Huntingburg, Indiana; and James Benson, Greensboro, North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Veda McCarty.
Mr. Benson was of the Methodist faith.
He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
Mr. Benson had belonged to the former Huntingdon No. 2 Volunteer Fire Co. at one time.
He retired from the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital Dietary Department with more than 30 years of experience.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, at the Robert E. Peters Funeral Home, Huntingdon, with the Rev. Matthew Peachey officiating. Interment will be made in the Mount Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Stone Creek Ridge Road, Huntingdon.
Friends may all at the funeral home from 1 p.m. Monday until the hour of services.
