Deborah K. (Gorsuch) Ray

Deborah K. (Gorsuch) Ray, 64, of Mount Union, went to be with the Lord Sunday evening, January 10, 2021, at UPMC Hamot, Erie.

Born Aug. 20, 1956 in Bellefonte, Centre County, she was a daughter of the late Ray W. Gorsuch and Betty J. (Martin) Gorsuch, who survives in State College. She was united in marriage to Michael D. “Mike” Ray Sept. 15, 2002, at Rothrock State Forest, Huntingdon County. Mr. Ray preceded her in death Jan. 9, 2021.

She is survived by two children, Jim A. Stewart Jr. and his wife, Dione, of Petersburg, and Jamie K. Cooper of Williamsburg; five grandchildren, Olivia Isenberg and her husband, Jarod, of Alexandria, River Stewart and Taryn Stewart, both of Petersburg, and Scott Dick and Damion Cooper, both of Williamsburg; and four great-grandchildren, Hailie Isenberg, Ryker Isenberg, Riddick Isenberg and Savannah Cooper.

She is also survived by four brothers and three sisters, Ray Gorsuch Jr. and his companion, Edith Kennedy, of Philipsburg, Rick Gorsuch of Alexandria, Ron Gorsuch and his wife, Sue, of Alexandria, Roger Gorsuch and his wife, Tandy, of Tennessee, Dorothy Gorsuch of Washington, Donna Hoffmaster of Huntingdon, and Denise (Gorsuch) McLaurin Matthews and her husband, Mark, of McVeytown; as well as; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Cody Cooper, Nov. 9, 2020.

Mrs. Ray had a strong Christian faith.

She was a 1974 graduate of Juniata Valley High School, Alexandria.

Mrs. Ray was currently employed as a food service/district manager at Martin Oil Co./Martin General Stores, Alexandria, where she has worked for the past 35 years.

She enjoyed cooking, baking, canning and playing cards and games. She also enjoyed the mountain time with her dogs, and above all, loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the hour of service Monday, Jan. 18, 2021, at the Heritage Baptist Church, 11332 Raystown Road, Huntingdon. A funeral service for Mrs. Ray and memorial service for her late husband, Michael D. Ray, who passed away Jan. 9, 2021, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18, at the church, with the Rev. Lou Zannino officiating. Private interment will be in Huntingdon Memorial Gardens, Walker Township, Huntingdon.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in remembrance of Mrs. Ray may be made to the Huntingdon County Humane Society, 11371 School House Hollow Road, Huntingdon, PA 16652.
