Edward C. Wharton, 57, of 11451 Ellsworth St., Mount Union, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at this home.
Born Sept. 27, 1961, he was the son of Kenneth E. “Tom” Wharton and the late Barbara A. (Dell) Wharton.
Mr. Wharton is survived by his companion, Angela M. McCartney; three children, Melissa Stania of Massachusetts; Edward C. Wharton Jr. and companion, Rochele Guyer, of Mount Union, and Emily Wharton of Bellefonte; and his grandchildren, Aiden, Laini, Kaylynn, Lilyan, Rosalie and Piercen.
He is also survived by a sister, Peggy A. Collins and husband, Don, of Shirleysburg; and Mr. Wharton’s former wife, Lisa McMath of Bellefonte.
Mr. Wharton was a member of the Sugar Run Church of the Brethren, Germany Valley.
He was a 1979 graduate of Mount Union Area High School.
Mr. Wharton had currently been currently employed for the last 31 years by U.S. Silica, Mapleton, as a heavy equipment operator.
He enjoyed cutting wood, guns and trucks.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 15, at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, with the Rev. Tim Miller officiating. Interment will be made Haven Rest Memorial park, Croghan Pike, Shirleysburg.
Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
