Ella L. Ramsey, 83, of McConnellsburg, passed away Saturday, Aug.10, 2019, at UPMC Carlisle Hospital, Carlisle.

Ella was born in Burnt Cabins July 1, 1936, the daughter of the late Florence Irene (Widener) and Clarence Foster McGowan. She was the widow of Carl LeRoy “Cub” Ramsey, whom she married Nov. 17, 1962. Mr. Ramsey preceded her in death May 30, 2005.

Mrs. Ramsey is survived by daughters, Wanda Foster, and husband, Daniel Lee Foster, of Burnt Cabins, and Karen Miller and husband, Brian Eugene Miller, of Lancaster; grandchildren Brett K. Foster, Joshua Carl-Robert Miller, Matthew T. Miller, and Linley R. Miller; and great granddaughter Natalie Violet Miller.

Also surviving are sisters Precious Mae Mann, of Fort Littleton, Connie L. Middaugh and husband, Robert Middaugh, of Chambersburg, Doris Jean Lydic and husband, Norman Lydic, of Greencastle, and brother Warren H. McGowan, of St. Thomas.

Ella was preceded in death by first husband Victor Harry McLaughlin; sisters Alberta Irene Coons, Helen Adeline Cooley, Francis McGowan; brothers LeRoy McGowan, Harry Dallas McGowan and infant triplets.

She was a member of the Siloam United Methodist Church in Harrisonville.

She was also a member of the VFW Post #655 Ladies Auxilliary in McConnellsburg.

Mrs. Ramsey was a seamstress at Sagner Inc. of McConnellsburg, a bookkeeper at Fulton Motors of McConnellsburg and a homemaker.

She enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, reading, cooking, baking and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, with the Rev. Bill Bair officiating. Interment will be made in Siloam United Methodist Cemetery, Harrisonville.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today, Wednesday, Aug. 14, at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc. There will also be visitation one hour before the service Thursday at the funeral home.
