Ernest Pollock Sr.

Ernest E. Pollock Sr., 92, of 3573 Ferguson Valley Road, McVeytown, went to be with the Lord at 12:38 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019, at Ohesson Manor, Lewistown.

Born Feb. 16, 1926, in Mount Union, he was a son of the late Emory and Clara (Stengle) Pollock. He was united in marriage to the former Louise R. Morrison Aug. 28, 1948, in Bellwood. She preceded him in death Nov. 2, 2018.

Mr. Pollock is survived by four children, Linda Pollock, Ernest E. Pollock Jr. and Bryan Pollock and wife, Mary, all of McVeytown; and Cindy McLuckie and husband, David, Lewisberry; six grandchildren, Dave McLuckie and wife, Michele; Andrew McLuckie and wife, Jennifer; Kristi Hackenberg and husband, Wayne; Lyndsay Pollock; Jennifer Grissinger and husband, Darron; and Joshua Pollock; and seven great-grandchildren, David; Kyle; Madison; Evan; Elaina; Jayce and Jayla.

Mr. Pollock was a member of Wayne United Methodist Church.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army in the European African Middle Eastern Theaters and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.

Mr. Pollock was employed as an ironworker at Local 404 Harrisburg, with 42 years of service.

He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, with the Rev. Stephanie Rupert officiating. Interment will be made in the Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.

Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday.

Ernie, I'm so sad to see that you lost both your parents in slightly over two months. I hope that you are able to process your loss as best you can. For what it's worth, my mother died 4 1/2 years ago, and it took me until last year to properly grieve.
