Gary M. Wilson, 69, of 18866 Orlando Drive, Orbisonia, passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2019, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon.
Born Feb. 28, 1949, in Ardenheim, he was the son of the late McClellan James and Catharine (Hileman) Wilson. He was united in marriage to the former Margaret P. “Peggy” Snyder July 9, 1976, in Winchester, Virginia. Mrs. Wilson survives at their home.
Mr. Wilson is survived by two sons, Garry J. Wilson and wife, Jamie, McAlpin, Florida, and David E. Wilson of Orbisonia; and grandchildren, Zachary, Hunter and Cassie.
He is also survived by his siblings, Marge Pearce of Huntingdon, Robert Wilson of Elwood City, Rickey Wilson of Palm Beach, Florida, Randy Wilson of Aliquippa, Paul Wilson of Palm Beach, Brenda Sechrist of Atlantic Beach, North Carolina, and Carol Vickovil of Aliquippa.
He was preceded in death by a brother, David Wilson.
Mr. Wilson enlisted in the United States Air Force and served during the Vietnam War. He was stationed at Cameron Bay.
He was a member of the Madden-Winnick American Legion Post 518, Rockhill, and the Blue Juniata VFW Post 5754, Mount Union. Mr. Wilson was a lifetime member of the Orbisonia-Rockhill Fire Co. and ran with the Orbisonia-Rockhill EMS. He was a former committee member with Boy Scout Troop 437.
Mr. Wilson graduated from high school in Aliquippa.
He was a truck driver as an independent hauler, but most recently worked for Marks Bros., Huntingdon.
Mr. Wilson enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his horses. He also was very fond of his English springer spaniel, Cherokee. He will be remembered for his love of his grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at noon Tuesday, Feb. 12, at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, with the Rev. Ed Seeley officiating.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the funeral home.
