Harold Dennis “Dennie” Holland, 75, of 287 30th St., Huntingdon, died peacefully Monday, March 11, 2019, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, surrounded by his family.

Born Jan. 15, 1944, in Huntingdon, he was the son of the late Harold and Josephine (Miller) Holland. He was united in marriage to the former Kathryn “Carol” Ramper July 3, 1965, at the 15th Street United Methodist Church, Huntingdon, by the Rev. Ramp. Mrs. Holland survives at their home.

Mr. Holland is survived by a daughter, Kristine “Kristy” Pethtel of Huntingdon; grandchildren, Paige Redman, Erica “Taylor” Wertz, Timberly “Timmee” Wertz and Clayton Wertz, all of Huntingdon; and great-grandchildren, McKinley Redman and Landen Wilson.

He is also survived by a brother, Ronald Holland and wife, Betty, of Waterville, Ohio.

Mr. Holland was a member of the 15th Street United Methodist Church, Huntingdon.

He served proudly in the United States Army in security agency from 1961-1972. During his service, Mr. Holland was stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky; Fort Devens, Massachusetts; Fort Huachuca, Arizona; Korea; Ethiopia; and Germany.

He was a 1961 graduate of Huntingdon High School.

Mr. Holland worked at the former Owens-Corning Fiberglas, Huntingdon, from 1972 until his retirement in 2005, when he was working on the MAT line. Mr. Holland served as a volunteer custodian at the Hartslog Valley Chapel for many years.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 16, at the Robert E. Peters Funeral Home, Huntingdon, with the Rev. Gary Hagans officiating. Interment will be made in Huntingdon Memorial Gardens, Walker Township.

Friends may call after 7 p.m. Friday, March 15, and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service Saturday at the funeral home.
