Helen A. Crouse, 90, of 11538 Clayspur Road, Shirleysburg, went to be with the Lord at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon.

Born Jan. 19, 1929, in Blacklog Valley, Cromwell Township, a daughter of the late Charles J. Sr. and Rose J. (Mason) Crouse.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by the following siblings, Charles J. Crouse Jr., Olive F. Snyder, Mary K. Crouse, Norbert L. Crouse, Owen G. Crouse, Augustus P. “Gus” Crouse and Father William S. “Bill” Crouse.

Miss Crouse was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church, Mount Union.

She graduated with the class of 1947 at Mount Union High School.

Mrs. Crouse, in her early life, worked at Sylvania Corp., Williamsport. She became a member of the Order of Sisters of Corona in Alabama and helped people throughout the community. After many years she returned to Pennsylvania and continued to work in geriatric nursing care at Valley View, Belleville.

She will be remembered by family and friends for her devotion to her prayer life and her enjoyment of long walks in the fields and flowers around her home. She also enjoyed her cats and loved to sew and read.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 15, at St. Catherine Catholic Church, Mount Union, with the Rev. Father Joseph Fleming officiating. Committal will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery, Shirleysburg.

Friends may call at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, from 7-9 p.m. tonight, Friday, June 14. A wake service will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
