Irvin L. Swope, 82, of Saucon Valley Manor Assisted Living, Hellertown, and formerly of Robertsdale, passed away Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019, at his residence.

Born May 14, 1936, in Todd, he was the son of the late Cloyd and Annie Ruth (Rickabaugh) Swope. He was united in marriage to the former Anna Guines. His wife of almost 50 years preceded him in death in May 2005.

Mr. Swope is survived by two daughters, Tanya Segal of Stewartsville, New Jersey, and Darla Scott and husband, Parry, of Alpharetta, Georgia; two sons, Wesley Swope and wife, Denise, of Erwinna, and Douglas Swope of Hellertown; grandchildren, David Pickel and wife, Christine, Kristen Todd and husband, Rob, Matthew Pickel and wife, Alison, Alexis Barsamian, Jennifer Segal, Justin, Jamie and Jake Scott, Nicholas and Michael Swope, Eric Swope and fiancé, Amanda Stricker, and Ashley and Alyssa Swope; and great-grandchildren, Norah, Bridget and Julia Pickel, Peyton and Wyatt Todd, Logan Pickel, Luke and Lilly Barsamian; and a dear friend, Alice Swope.

Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by son-in-law, Jerry Segal; and brothers, Vinson and Edwin Swope.

Mr. Swope’s religious affiliations included the Robertsdale Church of God and the Somerset Bible Baptist Church in New Jersey.

He was a retired assembly man for Ford Motor Co., but had also worked as a coalminer.

Mr. Swope loved farming, hunting, carpentry and mechanics.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, at the Robertsdale Church of God, with the Rev. Bryan Miller officiating. Interment will take place in the Todd Cemetery, Todd.

Friends will be received one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home Inc., 5010 Railroad Ave., Broad Top City.
