James Walter Carson, 84, 10034 Skid Lane, Mill Creek, died at 12:54 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, 2020, at his home.
Born March 8, 1936, in Bellefonte, Centre County, he was a son of the late William Leonard and Elizabeth Mae (Bertris) Carson. She was united in marriage to the former Karen Sue Schueck Dec. 24, 1958. Mrs. Carson survives at their home.
Mr. Carson is survived by two children, Pam Griffith and husband, Rick, Huntingdon, and and Rod Carson and wife, Denetta, Kernersville, North Carolina; grandchildren, Tiffany Rhodes, Scott Griffith, Cody Carson and Nick Carson; stepgrandson, Trey St. Clair; great-grandchildren, Kylor Rhodes, Jarren Rhodes, Chris Huey, Hayden Griffith and Syree Griffith.
He is also survived by two brothers, Curtis Carson and wife, Marie, Huntingdon, and Thomas Carson, Mill Creek.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Allen Carson, and a stepgrandson, Ryan St. Clair.
Mr. Carson was a member of the Allensville Community Church.
He served in the United States Army, having been stationed in Germany.
Mr. Carson was a member of the Mill Creek Lions Club at one time.
He worked as an independent truck driver for 22 years and then worked in construction and retired from HRI Inc.
Mr. Carson enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially on the Juniata River on Sundays with family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, at Goodman Cemetery in Henderson Township with the Rev. George C. “Buddy” Baird.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Allensville Community Church, 126 E. Main St., Allensville, PA 17002.
