John Frank Wilson Jr., 79, formerly of 3100 Blair Ave., Huntingdon, died at 3:10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 7, 2019, at The Oaks at Westminster Woods, Huntingdon, where he had resided for the past three years.
Born May 12, 1940, in Allensville, Mifflin County, he was the son of the late John Frank and Isabel Ida (Sausman) Wilson. He was united in marriage to Thelma G. (Ross) Sausman April 1, 1960. Mrs. Sausman precided him in death July 5, 2017.
He is survived by a daughter, Donna Howarth, Indianapolis, Indiana.
Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters, Helen Parson and husband, Lewis, McClure, Isabel Hartman and husband, Donald, Shermansdale, James Robert Wilson and wife, Judy, Shermansdale, John Reed Wilson and wife, Susan, Newville; and sisters-in-law, Romona, Linda and Carol Wilson.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Joseph D., Jacob T., Jay K., and John D. Wilson, and by a sister in infancy.
Mr. Wilson was a truck driver all of his life. He retired from Kaplan Trucking where he had been a long distance hauler, transporting steel for Kaplan Steel.
He enjoyed NASCAR racing.
Funeral services will beheld at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, at the Robert E. Peters Funeral Home, Huntingdon, with the Rev. Gary Hagans officiating. Interment will be made in the Mount Union Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service Thursday.
Flowers are to be omitted at the family’s request.
