John J. Myers, 88, of Honey Grove, died Sunday June 9, 2019, at his home.

Born July 17, 1930 in East Waterford, Juniata County, he was a son of the late Harry Garfield and Mona Simmons. He was reared by his grandparents, Alice and Abraham Seitz. He was united in marriage to the former Cula Smith March 5, 1950. Mrs. Myers survives.

Mr. Myers is survived by a niece, Mary McMullen of Blairs Mills, and nephews, John Goshorn of Blairs Mills and Bob Goshorn of Dauphin.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Goshorn and Dorothy Ruth.

Mr. Myers was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Korean War.

He was a member of the Perry Lodge 458 F&AM.

During his lifetime, Mr. Myers worked as a sawyer at the J. Nevin White Lumber Co. in Duncannon for 43 years.

He enjoyed turkey and deer hunting and attending car races.

Funeral services will be held at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley St., Orbisonia, at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, with the Rev. David Ford officiating. Interment will be made at Salem Cemetery, Blairs Mills, R.R.

Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service Wednesday.
