Paul E. “Sonny” Dell Jr., 71, of 13017 Big Valley Pike, Mill Creek, died at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 21, 2021, at Penn Highlands Huntingdon.

Born July 8, 1950, in Huntingdon, he was a son of Paul E. and Lucille (Park) Dell of Mill Creek. He was united in marriage to Teresa Ann Crotsley, who preceded him in death.

Mr. Dell is survived by a daughter and son, Traci Lynn Dell and companion, Greg Stuller, and Warren Paul Dell, all of Mill Creek; four grandchildren, Caitlynn Ann Dysard, Robert Beatty, Justin Beatty and Warren Paul Dell Jr.; and a great-grandchild, Darion Beatty.

He is also survived by a brother and sister, Glenn Dell and wife, Rhonda, Mill Creek, and Nancy Householder and husband, Robert, McConnellstown.

Mr. Dell was a member of the Mill Creek United Methodist Church.

He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, having served with Bravo Co. 1st Platoon/25th Infantry Division, from January 1970 and receiving a Purple Heart May 20, 1970.

Mr. Dell was a life member of Standing Stone VFW Post 1754, Huntingdon, Mapleton American Legion Post 322, Carlisle Vietnam Veterans Post 1 and the Mount Moriah Lodge 300 F&AM.

He worked for Sperry New Holland and its successor, Case New Holland, in Belleville for 35 years as a supervisor.

Mr. Dell enjoyed restoring antique cars and trucks. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in Troop 28 as a youth.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, at the Robert E. Peters Funeral Home, Huntingdon, with the Rev. Ernie Dell officiating. Interment will be made in Bowman’s Chapel Cemetery, Smith Valley Road, Mapleton. Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the VFW and American Legion Joint Honor/Color Guard.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26, and from 9 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday. A Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday.
