Richard Frederick Dick, 82, of 316 Hill St., Petersburg, passed away at 11:50 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2019, at Penn Highlands Huntingdon.
Born March 8, 1937, in Huntingdon, he was a son of the late Gilbert and Madeline (Fry) Dick. He was united in marriage June 29, 1963, in Petersburg to the former Lottie Campbell, who survives at their residence.
He is survived by three children, Mark Dick and wife, Tanya Yocum, Crystal Stevens and companion, Chris Hoffmaster, and Penny Barton and husband, Chris, all of Petersburg; 10 grandchildren, Ashlee Dick, Janelle Dick, Madison Dick, Keith Stevens II, Brady Stevens, Sidney Stevens, Gracie Barton, Maggie Barton, Konner Barton and Kennedy Barton; and one great-grandchild, Keith Thomas Stevens III.
He is also survived by two brothers, Donald Dick and wife, Peggy, of Alexandria, and Jess Dick of Petersburg; and a sister, Marie Bumbarger and husband, Norm, of Petersburg.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Gilbert “Pete” Dick, May 16. 2018.
Mr. Dick was of the Methodist faith and a member of Crever Memorial United Methodist Church, Petersburg.
He served in the United States Army.
Mr. Dick was a 1955 graduate of Juniata Valley High School.
He retired as a laborer for E.M. Foster, Huntingdon, after 10 years, but he spent most of his career with U.S. Sports, Petersburg, where he vulcanized sneakers for more than 20 years.
Mr. Dick was a lifelong resident of Huntingdon County, and he lived at his current residence since 1963. He loved to spend time with family and friends, especially at his camp. He also enjoyed playing horseshoes, hunting and gardening.
Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, July 13, at Lighthouse Worship Center, 5466 Alexandria Pike, Alexandria, with the Rev. Don Dick officiating. Interment will be made in the Cedar Grove Cemetery, Petersburg. Military honors will be accorded by the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Honor and Color Guard.
Friends will be received at the church from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday.
