Ruth Arlene Frederick Thompson, 59, of 1710 Main St., Apt. 302, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Monday, Oct. 12, 2020, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke.
She was born Aug. 25, 1961, in Pennsylvania to the late Ernest and Dorothy Garner Frederick.
She is survived by a daughter, Deborah Richmond and husband Jason of Clifton Forge, Virginia, three sons, David Lemin of Pennsylvania, Charles Lemin of West Virginia and Kevin Lemin of Clifton Forge, Virginia, seven grandchildren, Wyland, Waylon, Wyatt and Willow Richmond, Kevin Stolle, Amelia and Morgan Lemin.
Also surviving are a sister, Mary Frederick of Pennsylvania, a brother, Howard Frederick, a number of nieces and nephews and special friends, Melissa Downey, Josie Denius, and her church family, Seldon “Pops” Rowe Jr.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Skip, and a sister, Joyce Frederick.
She served as a volunteer for children’s groups at Lone Star Advent Christian Church, where she was a member.
She enjoyed volunteering at Camp ACCOVAC, Sharon Elementary School, and any activity in which her grandchildren were involved. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, Virginia.
