Thelma Marie (Kurtz) Sentman, 97, of 190 Kistler Road, Mount Union, passed away at 2:50 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019, at her home.

Born on June 16, 1921, in Claysburg, Blair County, she was the daughter of the late Edgar F. and Philomena (Yeager) Kurtz. Her husband, D. Lawrence Sentman, whom she married Jan. 27, 1939, at the St. Catherine’s Catholic Church rectory in Mount Union, preceded her in death in 1993.

Surviving is one son, Lawrence E. “Larry” Sentman and his wife, Sally, of Mechanicsburg, two grandsons, Matthew Sentman and wife, Suzanne, and Patrick Sentman, a granddaughter, Madeline, and a sister, Nancy Brown and husband Jack, of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

There are also several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews surviving.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Christina Sentman, a sister, Kathleen “Kay” Cramer, and a brother, Edward Kurtz.

Mrs. Sentman graduated from Mount Union High School in 1939.

She retired from the former Penn Central Bank, Mount Union, and had previously worked in the medical office of Dr. Harkness, Mount Union, helping with grade school medical examinations.

Mrs. Sentman enjoyed decorating, entertaining and shopping with her sisters. She will be remembered by her family as a loving mother and homemaker to her husband and to her son, Larry.

There will be a visitation from 1-2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, and following that, interment will be made in St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Shirleysburg.
