The Daily News
The 2020 dog licenses will go on sale Dec. 1, 2019. All dogs three months or older must be licensed by Jan. 1 of each year.
This year, a dog license renewal notice application will be mailed to those who have purchased a 2019 dog license for their pet. You may have already received the application in the mail. You may return your renewal application in the mail to the Treasurer’s Office at 233 Penn St., Huntingdon, PA 16652. Please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope for the 2020 license to be returned to you. You can visit any of the following licensing agents to buy/renew a 2020 dog license. Please remember that if you choose to personally visit the treasurer’s office or any of the agents, the licenses do not go on sale until Sunday, Dec. 1.
The agents include: Orbisonia True Value Hardware Inc., Laney’s Feed Mill, Mount Union Hardware, Huntingdon County Humane Society, Cassville Country Store, Ace Hardware, Couch’s Subs & Grocery, Dogwood Dog Lodge and Paws, Beaks & Claws Grooming.
The cost of the licenses will remain the same as the previous year. An annual license is $8.50 and a lifetime license is $51.50. If the animal is spayed or neutered, the annual fee is $6.50 and the lifetime license is $31.50. (An additional .50 is charged at issuing agent locations.) Discounts are available to senior citizens and people with disabilities.
Lifetime Dog Licenses can be purchased through the treasurer’s office only. Your pet will need to have a microchip or tattoo, along with the Permanent ID Verification Form completed by your veterinarian, in order to qualify for a lifetime license.
If your dog gets lost, a current license is the fastest way to get your pet back home.
