The Daily News

Dear Editor:

May 10, 2020, our family lost a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Bob Geissinger was not only devoted to his family, but also to his hometown of Huntingdon. Our family will be continuing his dedication to the flag program, annual fireworks celebration and Christmas lighting program. In his honor, we are asking everyone to fly their American flag not only on America’s birthday July 4, but also July 5, which would have been his 84th birthday and our parents’ 64th anniversary. The fireworks celebration will be postponed until Sept. 5 because of COVID-19 restrictions. Fireworks fundraising will be announced at a later date. We are planning a celebration of life for our dad at Detwiler Memorial Field in Huntingdon from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, prior to the fireworks. Everyone is invited to attend and encouraged to enjoy the fireworks in his honor.
