After attending the borough council meeting last Wednesday in Mount Union, I feel compassion for the council members. I think that they are truly trying to work for the betterment of the community; however, with a council president who acts more as a dictator than an accommodator, it appears to be a difficult task. I would suggest that the president learn the duties of her role and realize that to be an effective president, she must work with, and not against, the members of the council. It is not "her" council, it is the "borough's" council.
