The Huntingdon County Sports Hall of Fame will hold its annual fall re-organizational meeting for the general membership Thursday, Sept. 19, at Hoss’s Steak and Sea House in Huntingdon. Those attending can order their meal from the menu at 6 p.m. and the business meeting is slated to start at seven o’clock.
Among the items on the agenda is the election of officers and executive board members for the 2019-20 year. Any paid member interested in being considered for an office or the executive board is encouraged to attend, or make their interest known. The organization is always open to new leadership candidates who bring along fresh ideas that will help it not only grow, but better meet the interests and needs of the membership.
The current membership year runs from July 1, 2019, through June 30, 2020. Dues must be received by Nov. 15, 2019, to ensure that the member can participate in the nominating and voting process for the Class of 2020. Dues are $10 per year, with $4 of that included for membership in the Pennsylvania State Sports Hall of Fame, and checks can be sent to: Huntingdon County Sports Hall of Fame, P.O. Box 231, Huntingdon, PA 16652. Be sure to include your name and address.
All members and prospective members are encouraged to attend the fall meeting that will be devoted to all aspects of the organization. You are welcome to bring any ideas of your own to this meeting for discussion.
In addition to the secretary and treasurer reports, a review of the successful 2019 induction banquet will be given. Also reviewed will be the timeline for selection the Class of 2020 and plans for the 23rd annual banquet.
