The Huntingdon golf team played pretty well at the Philipsburg Country Club Monday afternoon, but didn’t get a good results. The Bearcats finished Mountain League matches with a 2-4 record for the day.
Ryan Marshall led the Bearcats with a round of 78. Andon Suchan followed a stroke back. Jordan Houck shot a round of 94 and David Kester turned in a 103. Ryan Sullivan shot 116 in a non-scoring role.
R.J. Royer and Luke Brooks of Tyrone, along with Isaac Brooks of Bellefonte took medalist honors for the day with rounds of 77.
Tyrone turned in a aggregate score of 329 to win the day. Hollidaysburg (338) was second, Bellefonte (339) third and host Philipsburg (347) fourth. Huntingdon was fifth with a total score of 355, followed by Clearfield (358) and Penns Valley (447).
“We had a couple players who were going very well on the front nine, then let it get away on the back,” said Huntingdon coach Scott Eichelberger. “We also had some putting issues.”
The Bearcats (11-12) will be back in action Thursday, traveling to another Mountain League Meet, this time at the Nittany Country Club, home course for Bellefonte.
