Southern Huntingdon’s boys stayed hot with a 50-16 win at Forbes Road Tuesday.

Nate Myers led the Rockets with 14 points in the contest. Owen Winter and Lance Carbaugh added nine points each.

The Rockets will be back to work Friday when they travel to Saxton to face Tussey Mountain at 4:45 p.m.

Girls’ Basketball

Mount Union 29

West Branch 15

Mount Union held host West Branch to just five points in the first half and turned a 12-point halftime lead into a 29-15 victory Tuesday afternoon.

The Trojans were led by six points apiece from Kassidy Bookout, Chelsea Williams and Patyn Crisswell, while Carys Dodd and Kendra Gardner added four points each. Jenna Mertz fronted the Warriors with six points.

Mount Union (6-2) is home Friday for Williamsburg.

Bellwood-Antis 40

Juniata Valley 23

Bellwood-Antis got a game-high 22 points from McClausky to help the Blue Devils to a 40-23 victory over visiting Juniata Valley Tuesday afternoon.

The Green Hornets (3-2) were led by six points apiece from Hopsicker and Hartman.

Juniata Valley is at West Branch Friday.

Forbes Road 5

Alexis Buckley had a game-high 10 points to help Southern Huntingdon to a convincing 47-5 victory at Forbes Road Tuesday afternoon.

The Rockets (3-1) are home for Tussey Mountain Thursday.
