Tussey Mountain 27

Southern Huntingdon’s junior high boys stayed hot Friday afternoon, outscoring Tussey Mountain by a 49-27 margin.

Owen Winter paced the Rockets with 17 points, while Nate Myers added 16. C. Watkins led the Titans with 11.

Both teams will be at home for their next outings. Tussey will host McConnellsburg at 5:15 Monday, while the Rockets entertain Southern Fulton at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Girls’ Basketball

Williamsburg 44

Mount Union 13

Williamsburg limited host Mount Union to just four points in the first half Friday afternoon and turned a 20-point lead at the intermission into a 44-13 victory.

K. Norris posted a game-high 13 points for the Blue Pirates. Kendra Gardner led the Trojans (6-3) with four points.

Mount Union travels to Glendale Tuesday.

Juniata Valley 32

West Branch 13

Juniata Valley improved to 4-2 Friday afternoon with a 32-13 victory at West Branch.

Moskel led the Hornets with eight points, while Croyle had six for the Warriors.

Juniata Valley is home Tuesday for Moshannon Valley.


West Branch 50

Southern Huntingdon 9

Southern Huntingdon’s junior high wrestlers had one victory on the mats and received a forfeit in a 50-9 loss at West Branch Thursday evening.

Tommy Cohenour (130) won a regular decision for the Rockets and Caden Scott (110) received the forfeit.

The Rockets will be back on the mat Tuesday when they host Glendale Tuesday evening.
