Juniata Valley

This Week’s Game: Juniata Valley (6-2) at Glendale (5-3), 7 p.m.

Last Week in Review: Moshannon Valley scored the game’s first points, but Caden Rupert threw for 320 yards and six touchdowns, with Jacob Hensor catching six passes for 200 yards and three of the scores, as Juniata Valley went on to a 44-21 win over the Black Knights.

“All year we’ve taken the philosophy of don’t pigeon hole yourself. We just took what the gave us,” Juniata Valley head coach Bill Musser said. “Caden really relaxed and read the defense well. Some short passes we turned into long touchdown runs. He gave those people the chance to make plays and the offensive line gave us the time to make those plays.”

Scouting Report: Glendale trailed Tussey Mountain 18-0 but came back within two points before the Titans held on to win 26-23. Seth Dudurich ran for 130 yards and a touchdown.

“They play with confidence. Their kids are playing hard every play. They never stop. They’re learning to win and would like nothing more than to knock us off.

“The running game is their bread and butter and they have used the wildcat look too. Glendale has found some offensive rhythm. We have to be very disciplined, we can’t get out of position and must tackle as a group.

“Defensively they play a four and five man front and don’t get out of position very often. We have to always make sure we stay consistent and put ourselves in the best position possible.”
