This Week’s Game: Mount Union (1-7) at Moshannon Valley (2-6), 7 p.m.
Last Week in Review: Bellwood rushed for 477 yards and six touchdowns on the way to a 45-7 home victory. Klayton Willoughby led the Trojans with 82 rushing yards on 10 carries, while Ethan Carbaugh threw for 57 yards, but with three interceptions. Trevor Skopic ran 45 yards in the fourth quarter for the only Trojans’ only TD
“We dropped two interceptions and two TD passes in the first half,” lamented Mount Union coach Rob Turner. “Those could have completely changed the game. Bellwood took advantage of our mistakes and the fact that our lineup is pretty well decimated by injuries.
“We had moments when we were able to drive the ball pretty well, but we couldn’t finish. I was very happy that our junior varsity kids were able to punch one in in the fourth quarter.”
Scouting Report: “Moshannon Valley simply lines up and comes right at you,” Turner continued. “They have a very good running back and line to play a ball control game. They are able to pass enough to keep defenses honest.
“Defensively, the give you a 4-3 look and play man-to-man in the secondary. They stack the box and force you to pass the ball. We just have to line up and go right at them with our patchwork lineup.”
